THE HOPE THAT KILLS

Out now in paperback and ebook

Buy on Amazon or order online or instore at all good bookstores.

When the body of Councillor Irving Hargreaves is discovered on a remote headland overlooking the deep, tranquil waters of Torbay in South Devon, England, DCI Bobby Redhill is handed the case. At the scene he meets investigative reporter Peter Norton who appears to know a lot about the victim and has very definite views on the sequence of events that he believes ultimately led to the councillor's death.

Both men have their own motivations for uncovering the truth but are they just clouding their judgement? Neither trusts the other but as the mystery deepens they are forced to work together. Will they be able to put their differences to one side or will a killer be allowed to walk free?

Thanks to everyone who came to the book signing at the Tea Rooms at Oldway Mansion on Saturday 27 May 2023 and helped to make it such a successful and enjoyable event. I really appreciated all the support.

The sun was shining and the teas, coffees and cakes were plentiful. Thanks to Kathy and all of the volunteers for their hard work and everything they are doing to help support a positive future for Oldway Mansions.

Marldon Apple Pie Fair 2023

Amazing to see so many people at the Marldon Apple Pie Fair on the first Saturday of September. We were fortunate to have fantastic weather on the day and loads of people came to support the village and help raise lots of much needed funds.

Thanks to everyone associated with the Marldon Parish Church who let me share their stall and to all those who came to have a chat and to buy a signed copy of my novel. I was born in Marldon and the village features in the Hope that Kills so the whole day was just a perfect fit.

Hoping to organise the next event soon.

I really enjoyed this book. The story is compelling and had me gripped right to the end. I loved the characters and the descriptions of the local areas in Devon made me feel like I was there."
